Arvo Pärt weekend at Flagey center (26.-28.01.18): exhibition "Arvo Pärt - Renowned and Unknown". 

The event is dedicated to the centenary of the Republic of Estonia.


Every two years, Flagey organizes a Baltic Sea Festival, a festival that puts the spotlight on one of the Baltic States and its culture. For this year’s edition, Flagey celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and its most famous composer, Arvo Pärt. Arvo Pärt’s music is very well known throughout the world and it has touched and affected very many people. This exhibition tells the story of this composer – about his origin, childhood and formative years. This story is a part of the story of Estonia, bringing the listener closer to the environment and story of development in which the music that is so well known was born.
Flagey welcomes the renowned Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Flemish Radio Choir and the French sociologist David Le Breton, as well as Belgian stars such as composer Jean-Paul Dessy, Revue Blanche and Annelien Van Wauwe.

The event is dedicated to the centenary of the Republic of Estonia.
