Vale of Glamorgan Festival

This years Vale of Glamorgan Festival of contemporary composers and classical music is dedicated to Arvo Pärt’s 80th. anniversary. The festival highlights the music of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt and is performed by all the listed musicians. We are pleased to announce that in the forthcoming festival there are also listed among others Estonian composers like Veljo Tormis, Helena Tulve Jaan Rääts, Erkki-Sven Tüür, Tõnu Kõrvits ja Toivo Tulev.

The Festival will be broadcast through BBC3 and will be guided by prizewinning pianist and composer Stephen Johnson. He is also well known and awarded music reviewer working for The Independent, The Guardian, BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone.

Music Management and Export Development

Estonian Music Development Center is currently implementing the project "Music Management and Export Development". Project is funded by Enterprise Estonia and European Regional Development Fund. 

Project is quite long and has many different outputs:
Music Management Course in 2012 from March to September
During five blocks of lectures the participants will have the chance to see more than 10 different international experts from the music world. Also a free entrance to Tallinn Music Week´s seminar and concerts is granted. The course is made for current and up-coming music entrepreneurs.

Management Course´s internships from October 2012 to November 2013
Ten participants of the course will get the opportunity to do an internship abroad in top level international concert management firms, music foundations, production companies, etc.

Developing and testing a format for classical music
During the project professional marketing videos are created for musicians with the aim to introduce musicians abroad. Three target markets have been chosen for this particular project: Russia, Germany and the Netherlands. In each of these target markets an Estonian music contact event is organised with the purpose to introduce Estonian music and to develop a professional network.

Organizing Tallinn Music Week
Estonian Music Development Center supports pop-music export by supporting Tallinn Music Week. Tallinn Music Week is supported financially by this project both in 2012 and 2013.
